Student / Host services

At Home UK provides quality and affordable homestay accommodation for international students when they visit, study or work in London. We can provide homestay accommodation for both long and short stay visits and work hard to ensure that we satisfy the requirements of both our clients and hosts.

Our priority is to provide a safe, fun and homely atmosphere for our international students so that they can experience family life while practising their language skills and visiting London. We want the students to integrate with their homestay so that they can see how we live while they learn our language and visit our capital and, at the same time, we want the homestay providers to enjoy their experience of other cultures and customs.

At Home UK complies with British Council standards and we work closely with accredited Language Schools for thousands of students every year, helping them feel ‘At Home’ in London.

Safeguarding, Welfare & Safer Recruitment

We pride ourselves on the care and attention we ensure each booking or guest receives, whilst also looking after our hosts’ needs and requirements. We care that the experience on both sides is a positive and enjoyable one. At Home UK is dedicated to the Safeguarding and Welfare of all guests, especially the under 18s and vulnerable adults. We are committed to practising safe recruitment including careful selection and vetting of staff members and homestay hosts and other suppliers. At Home UK has a designated Welfare Officer and all staff have at least Level 1 Safeguarding training, as well as Enhanced DBS Certificates. We believe that everyone has a responsibility to look after children and young people who have rights as individuals and should be treated with respect. At Home UK works hard to ensure that a safe homestay environment is provided for any young person, and we expect all staff members and homestay hosts to share this duty. We encourage our hosts to complete an online training course as well as a home risk assessment to increase awareness of Safeguarding for all.

At Home UK is committed to ensuring the following:

That all homestay hosts are aware of their Duty of Care to guests under the age of 18.
To visit and vet all applicants before accepting them as hosts, and ask for references
To ensure that all hosts intending to accommodate guests under the age of 18 have a valid Enhanced DBS Certificate.
To regularly review homestay profiles to check whether circumstances have changed.
To remove unsuitable homestay hosts from our register.
That all staff are aware of Safeguarding and Welfare policies and procedures including completing online training courses

Staff and Safer Recruitment

All At Home UK staff members are required to take shared responsibility for the safety of any young people and vulnerable adults who are clients of At Home UK. Staff members must be aware that they are in a position of trust and must abide by the company’s Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults Policy. All staff members are trained to at least level 1 Safeguarding Children, with a designated Welfare Officer always on call.
